Although I don’t run for exercise or sport, I love runners for the lightweight comfort they provide, and the Nike Air Zoom Structure 18 Volt Hyper Crimson is no exception. While these aren’t the typical retro runner fare I usually go for, I can appreciate pairs on the more ‘techy’ side of things, especially as dedicated beaters.
Overall, I am really liking what Nike is doing – all their runners keep looking better and better! I’m really feeling this Volt/Hyper Crimson colorway, the knit look of the engineered mesh and the overall shape of this shoe.
As far as quality is concerned, these seem to make the best of the minimal materials utilized. It’s tough to judge a shoe like this based on the material quality seeing as it basically has a mesh upper, but the build at least seems solid.
When it comes to comfort, the flywire and engineered mesh uppers on this shoe are lightweight and breathable while providing a snug, comfortable fit at true to size. The triple density support system in the midsole (which includes Zoom Air) helps the shoes’ responsiveness without sacrificing comfort. These definitely have a solid, somewhat bouncy feel to them when sporting casually. Which makes sense, since the Zoom Structure series is supposed to provide excellent stability for runners.
These come in an orange Nike box and include grey oval laces.
